The Day of the Lord

The great day of the LORD is near;
It is near and hastens quickly. (Zephaniah 1:14)

The lasts events in Myanmar and in the Amazonas made me think about the Day of the LORD. This day didn’t come yet, like Paul said: Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3).

Therefore, the Day of the LORD didn’t come yet, but it is near.

    Yes, the Day of the Lord is closer than we can imagine.
    What happened in Myammar was specially sad for me. When I was in Singapore at the Haggai Institute in 2006 my roomate was from Myammar. M. M. S. was so quiet and shy. I remember we had our first conversation after almost one week! She told me how was hard to be a Christian not even at her home but at her country. She had forgotten how many times someone from her family used to bit her because of Jesus. She said that it was a miracle for her to have that whole month to learn about Jesus. I miss her; her honestity, her faith, her passion to tell about Jesus. Now I pray our God keeps her safe and that she somehow can have a chance to share about Jesus in this time of trouble.
